Late Link Love Due to a Case of the Nasties

This has been the week from hell. First, my apologies for the lack of posting but it seriously could not be helped. Tuesday evening I noticed some strange alerts on my computer and began getting a massive number of popups. I know the signs, so I realized somehow my computer had become infected with a virus, spyware, or some form of malware. I was a bit surprised because I had the McAfee Internet Security system installed. Apparently the protection was less than adequate because their scan showed nothing was found on my computer but when I scanned using Trendmicro, SpyHunter, and SUPER Anti-spyware it was painfully obvious I had a real case of the nasties. I ended up uninstalling McAfee and installing Norton, which I had been using for the last 3 years but opted for McAfee a month ago because it came free with my ISP. That was a real mistake on my part. Despite the switch back to Norton, and the various scans and removal attempts I’ve gone through this week with it and other anti-spyware software some nasty trojans have dug deep into my system and are causing me real problems. I can’t seem to get rid of them no matter what I try… and I am barely getting any work done because of all the alerts, popups, and system slowing. It really has me bummed out.

Since my computer is already 4 years old, I was planning on buying a new one this year sometime anyway. I’d really LOVE to move to a Mac, but I’m not sure if all of my programs will be compatible and I can’t quite afford the price tag for the one I want right now either. So I’ve ordered a new Dell Laptop and it should be here in about a week. Until then, I’m suffering through this crap-ola and doing the best I can. My new computer can’t get here soon enough…
